Originally from the Netherlands, Andre Verhoogt has been an integral part of the Mulokot Foundation since its inception in 2018, serving as the dedicated Managing Director. Andre’s connection with the Wayana Indigenous community dates back to 2006 when he first encountered their culture—a meeting that left an indelible mark on his heart.
Armed with a background in Organizational Behavior and Change Management, Andre brings a wealth of expertise to his role. His passion, easy-going nature, and commitment to the well-being of Indigenous peoples define his approach to his work at Mulokot.
Beyond the boardroom, Andre is a hands-on leader. Whether he’s donning the chef’s hat in the kitchen, excavating ground for our Fish farm project, or conducting training sessions in the village, his versatility knows no bounds. This multi-talented individual actively seeks opportunities to enhance the lives of the Indigenous people in Suriname, driven by a genuine desire to make a positive impact.
