Ipomadi Pelenapin is the Paramount Chief of the Wayana Indigenous in the Lawa territory. For many years he leads our people with a tact, patience, honest and integrity. Together with Jupta he is the founder of the Mulokot Foundation in April 2018. He is a hard worker, quick thinker and we are proud to have him as our leader (Granman).
Ipomadi Toko Pelenapin (Miep) is the Paramount Chief (since 2005) of the Wayana Indigenous in the Lawa Area. Ipomadi lives in the village Kawemhakan (Anapaike). All the Wayana villages have their own autonomy but officially the villages of Abunasunga (Lensi dede) and Kumakapan are part of his jurisdiction.
Since 2012 Pelenapin is also part of the board of the Vereniging Inheemse Dorpshoofden Suriname (VIDS, Organization of Indigenous village leaders in Suriname).
